God's Temple in the Bible: 1 Corinthians 3:16-17
The idea that the human body is "God's temple," found in this passage, is a profound argument against violence--either violence inflicted on others, or inflicted on ourselves. We're made in God's image, and not just our souls but also our bodies have a special value in reflecting that image.
