Sheep in the Bible: John 10:1-21
Jesus here describes himself as a shepherd, tasked with keeping his followers safe. Sheep are helpless and easily fooled creatures, but a good shepherd keeps them safe from predators and offers them sanctuary. In the same way, Jesus keeps us safe from spiritual predators when we put our trust in him.
