Achan in the Bible - a Christian perspective
After the fall of Jericho Achan disobeyed God's covenant and took some of the devoted things for his own. Later the Israelites were routed at Ai and Joshua cried out to God in distress. God told Joshua that someone had sinned among the people. Even though Joshua gave the Israelites time to consecrate themselves, Achan still kept the devoted things. He was found out the following day and the Israelites stoned him.
