Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Fatal Refusal - #4284
It's a deadly mistake to refuse to get in a lifeboat - especially when it comes to being rescued from an eternity that none of us wants. Tragically, a whole lot of people are saying to Jesus, "No thanks. I don't think I'm going to need You. After all, I've gotten this far without You. I've been fine up to here. I'll take my chances without You." Strong, self-reliant, doing things for yourself, and proudly refusing to put your trust in Jesus. And, according to the Bible, doomed. Because this one you can't do for yourself.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Simplifying Your Journey - #3805
And what do smart sheep do? Try to figure out where they're going to find some good pasture...or try to figure out which road is safe and which one is dangerous...or move in the direction that looks best to them? Nope. They do what my wife did traveling in that unfamiliar territory out West. They quit trying to figure it out for themselves and follow the One who knows every mile of the road! In John 10:27, Jesus says, "My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me."

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Avoiding Shark Attacks - #3855
We know from 1 Peter 5:8 that you and I have an enemy - the devil - who is "looking for someone to devour." And I'm convinced that he operates much like those sharks - he looks for someone who's off on their own - and pounces on them. You're a lot less vulnerable as long as you're sticking close to your spiritual brothers and sisters, to your family. The problem is that right now maybe you're allowing yourself to be isolated, distant and even cut off from people who love you and people you love. The shark from hell loves that.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Whale Bait - #3880
You can run by rationalizing, by blaming other people, by putting it off, by hiding behind excuses. But after all is said and done, you're just plain old disobeying your Lord. Here comes the storm -- here comes that big-mouthed sea creature.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Hard to Turn - #3928
If you're an aggressive, goal-oriented person, it's easy to unwittingly, even unknowingly, be one of God "obstinate children" - and to be working very hard on plans that are actually yours, not God's. We can be victims of our own cleverness, our own credentials, our own drive, and our own resourcefulness - ultimately of our own stubbornness. It could be that God is trying to turn you right now - but, like that old Mustang my son had, you really resist being turned. And God has to just keep increasing the pressure.
