Foolishness in the Bible: 1 Corinthians 1:18
The message of the Gospel doesn't seem to make sense. In fact, Paul writes that it is foolishness--nonsense--to those who choose to reject it. In fact, the Gospel defies human reason; from a purely human perspective, it's hard to accept it as true! But when the Holy Spirit speaks to us, we are opened up to its truth.

The message - a Christian perspective
Jesus commanded his disciples to go out into Israel, preaching the message that the kingdom of God was near. Our mission today is the same: to proclaim to the world that Jesus saves, and that he is bringing about the kingdom of God.

“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.”
- 1 Corinthians 13:1-3
