Clone or Original - #6825
Be yourself! Relax! Be the person that God made for a unique role that you are destined to fulfill. You compare with somebody else? You'll never get off the ground. You try to copy someone else, and you will never be the person you were created to be.

Getting Close to a VIP - #6737
You'll know that you're becoming like Jesus when you start to lose your fascination with people who are powerful, or those who can do something for you. You're becoming like Jesus when you feel yourself wanting to be with the people He thinks are important; not the ones the world says are important. The ones the world sees as powerless and unimportant.

Was H L Mencken right? Humor and Christians.
H L Mencken defined Puritanism as ‘The haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy.’ How sad it is that Christians in general, and the bible in particular, have been frequently perceived as humorless. In fact, the bible, and the ministry of Jesus, are full of humor, and we are therefore mandated to use humor in evangelism and ministry. Check this CT article on Understanding Humor and James Watkins writings, many of which are very accessible to not-yet-Christians. IE Day’s page about humor includes a free download of a classic book and a more recent title on Christianity and humor.

No Paper Plates - #5935
Don't believe the lies in your brain that keep telling you you're a paper plate, that you're worthless, that keep tempting you to throw yourself away. You are fine china! You're to be reserved for special purposes. If you feel like you're not worth much, then it's time to pay a visit to the cross where Jesus Christ died for you. That's how much God thinks you're worth - the life of His Son.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries, Inc. - Undervalued - #8283 | Radio Program | A Life That Matters
One newspaper said, “Susan Boyle is a Disney movie waiting to happen.” Well, maybe so. She was a contestant on England’s Britain’s Got Talent TV show. She was described as unglamorous, unfashionable, unknown, and when she walked on stage the judges just rolled their eyes. And then she sang, and she blew everyone away! A YouTube clip of her singing attracted over 40 million hits. Nobody realized the treasure she had inside her.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries, Inc. - Shiny Gold or Solid Gold - #8256 | Radio Program | A Life That Matters
A friend of ours has been watching the price of gold going up and up, and she decided it was time to trade in some gold jewelry for cash. She had some elegant looking pieces, and then one that she described as “really pretty ugly.” But the jeweler saw something different. The beautiful pieces brought some modest cash. The “ugly” one was worth more than any other piece. It didn’t look all that great on the outside, but when the jeweler weighed it, he said it was solid gold all the way through.

Surrounded by Precious - #5880
Every man or woman in our world was made in the image of Almighty God Himself. Every man and woman in our world is "fearfully and wonderfully made," and is, in the Bible's words, "God's workmanship." Our subtle racism, or prejudice, or feelings of superiority are nothing less than sin to a holy God who "so loved the world that He gave His Son."
