Washing someone's feet is an extremely humble thing to do. You are participating in an act of service that demands you to kneel before a person and to touch the very thing they tromp through the dirt and mud of the world. But Jesus showed his disciples how much he cared for them by washing their feet. He told them that they should go and wash the feet of others, following his example.
