Religion in the Bible: James 1:27
God doesn't like what we normally associate with religion: rituals, ceremonies, and services. What he wants is for us to act with kindness and service to those who need it most. If you're doing that, you're practicing the one "religion" that God approves of.

Widows in the Bible: 1 Timothy 5:3-4
God has a heart for those in society who can't support themselves, and widows in the ancient world certainly fell into that category. Believers are told here to care for the widows in their communities, and especially for those in their own families.
