Three places to find Christmas encouragement this year

Need help getting into the holiday spirit this Christmas? If you’re looking for a little Christmas insight, take a look at these holiday essays and articles from various Gospel.com community ministries—they’re online Christmas classics that are freshly relevant each time the holidays roll around:

  • First up is a great essay by evangelist Luis Palau with advice on how to make the most of the holidays for evangelism. Evangelism, you say? Isn’t Christmas a time to visit with family and exchange gifts with loved ones? Yes, but it’s also a wonderful time of the year to share the Gospel story with somebody who hasn’t heard it before. Palau’s article has some great ways you can do that in a friendly and Christmas-y way.
  • James Watkins’ Twelve Sites of Christmas is another holiday favorite—a dozen essays about Christmas ranging from silly to serious. And that’s not all that Watkins has to say about Christmas; check out his blog for regular Christmas insights and updates.
  • If that’s not enough, ACTS International—home of the popular Daily Encounter devotional—have a large collection of Christmas articles worth checking out. If you need help slowing down this Christmas and reflecting on what’s really important, Christmas: A Call to Remember can help; if you need a reminder of what the Christmas story means for you, take a look at The Remarkable Power of Christmas or Making Sense of Christmas. There are over a dozen other articles well worth reading or printing out for a time when you or somebody you know needs a bit of encouragement this holiday.

Lots of good reading material there—take a few minutes to check them out! We’ll be back tomorrow with more good Christmas links.
