Do you expect the Second Coming in your lifetime?

Few topics within the Christian faith have inspired as much speculation and literature as the Second Coming of Jesus Christ—the day in which he will return, as was promised thousands of year ago. A look at Christian non-fiction over the last few decades suggests that many Christians believe that event will take place within their lifetimes—but then again, Christians in every generation since Christ have hoped for the same thing.

What about you? With the disclaimer that nobody can know for sure, do you expect the Second Coming will take place in your lifetime? Why or why not?

I do expect the return of Christ at any given time, for it is written in Matthew c.24v44, Be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

    Speak The Word

    Believe The Word

Receive of The Word (From God)

The scriptures clearly tell us that no one know when He will return and I do think that it could happen in my lifetime.

I believe that Christians living in Germany in the ’30s might have thought they were in the last days. I also think that people living under Soviet domination, especially during the Stalin era, would have thought they were in the last days. Since the time of Christ, history is replete with Christians being persecuted and living oppressed lives. I think any Christian in any of those times would have thought they were in the last days. When I was a child growing up, at the height of the Cold War, I thought we were all doomed (pre-Christian conversion). Our recent history and the world we live in today would seem to point to a rushing towards the Second Coming. As my Christian walk becomes stronger and more focused I cannot but help thinking we are in the last days – especially the way the world hates Israel. I think we could be in the last days based on prophecy being fulfilled. However, since no one knows the day or time I try to live each day for Christ

Only God knows….but I think it is more important to remember when “we Christians” get together and start dicussing the Second Coming that there are still people “out there” who haven’t yet been told about the FIRST COMING!
Let’s spend our time reaching out to them, eh?
    God needs harvesters!

  • Peter says:

I think Christ will return soon, about the same as Paul did 😉
From the perspective of forever “Soon” looks a lot different!
Meanwhile I want to be more conformed to His image!

  • yes i do the word of god tells us that jesus will come back the same way he went to heaven and I belive it.

  • Jesus said we could not know the “day or the hour” but that we may know when it is near, even at the door !

  • “last days” refers to the days after Jesus’ time on earth. No prophecies are yet to be fulfilled for Jesus to “snatch away” (rapture) the church, however, scripture tells us that God is not willing that any should perish, and that any extra days God gives before the judgment of mankind are for the sake of those who WILL believe before He comes. There are certain prophecies yet to be fulfilled before God’s Judgment Day of sinners, which some call the “last day”.

    I certainly hope so!

I believe the second coming of the Christ is already with us. In Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, the second coming to humanity is Christian Science, explaining the power and the glory of the Kingdom of Heaven at hand. Raising the dead, casting out evil, healing the sick.

    Hello,
I believe that the second coming may very well happen in my own or my daughters lifetime. The incredible technology in place already is enough to deceive the entire planet. I’ve already been attacked by website predators on recovery from Mormonism and my 12-step free website
that helps others to recover from AA branwashing and false god beliefs.
I have warned other Christians off site to be careful. You will be attacked. So yes the end times are very near because it is getting extremely difficult to be a Southern Baptist and live my life in peace.

Yes, I believe with all my heart that the second coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ will happen in our life time because of the signs of the times. I urge all readers to get hold of and read “Heaven is so Real” by Choo Thomas, this book will make an impact on your heart and soul. I picked up this book and did not want to put it down until I had finished reading it.

After reading this book one will have a more fervent view of the scriptures concerning this subject.

“. . . EVEN SO COME LORD JESUS”.
