"Follow me" in the Bible: Luke 9:23

Following Jesus isn't always easy--in fact, it often requires us to go against the grain of our natural human impulses. The work of loving Jesus and acting righteously is an everyday struggle of denying our own desires.

  1. kkiii says:

Come after. He died for me and my sins. Let me do as He tells me by keeping that love for me in sight.

  2. normogg says:

Would the call of God ever ask us to leave believing family, friends and lifestyle, to go to a far away country to do something like build clean drinking water wells, for a year?

How does one discern this seeming call of God, when the potential could be detrimental on family?

How does family help discern what is right to do in a situation like this?

“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.”
- 1 Corinthians 13:1-3
