Guilt in the Bible: Psalm 51:1-4

All of us, without exception, bear the burden of guilt from our sins. This psalm is an eloquent confession to God of our sin, and a plea for God to forgive us and remove our guilt--a plea He gladly answers.

God is so good! He truly does forgive, even though sometimes I do not feel like He has. Psalms 51:1-4 is a helpful reminder that poeple have always asked God to forgive them, and God does!

I have done many horrible things in my life, and the guilt sometimes makes me feel like giving up. However, God always shows His great love for me when I am at the lowest points. Usually God helps me realize His love through His Word. I’m so glad my God loves me and forgave me, and proved His love by dying in my place.

“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.”
- 1 Corinthians 13:1-3
