   The Lord spoke into my spirit the blessings of Jacob’s ladder. In Genesis 28 it says that after Jacob left his parents because he had to flee from his brother he laid down to sleep. He was alone away from home. I believe in this situation you might find yourself afraid and unsure of the future. Jacob was left without family to lean on and he had to fend for himself. He made his pillow from a rock and went to sleep. He dreamt about the ladder and angels ascending and descending with the Lord on top of the stairs. To top this, the Lord started to speak to him and conveyed to him his bright future. Like in Jeremiah 29: 11 the plans that the Lord had for him (Jacob) had not changed. The Lord told him that he was blessed as well as his seed (children), which confirms his father’s (Isaac) blessings. The blessings also included that he will inherent the land in which he was a foreigner. The Lord also said his nation will be like dust and indicated that he will spread to the south, north, east and west, which implies throughout the earth or world.
   The Lord confirms that He will be with Jacob until all this has been fulfilled. This declaration is a lasting covenant by the Lord. In Ezekiel 36: 36 the Lord said: “ I the Lord have spoken, and I will do it.” Jacob received the following blessings in his ladder experience: the visitation of numerous angels, the visitation of the Lord, I AM; the blessing on his nation and descendants; the confirmation of his inheritance of foreign land and the fact that his nation will spread all over the earth (abroad north, south, east and west); and lastly that the Lord will be with Him until all this is fulfilled.
   We, as the descendants of Jacob have the same blessings spoken over our lives.
