New Life in the Bible: Romans 6.3-5

What does it mean to give your life over to Christ? It means renouncing your "old life" and gaining a "new life." Our baptism into Christ's service is a sign that we've symbolically shared in his death and resurrection, and are free of the sin and guilt that once weighed us down.

  1. tamara says:

can a person be baptised more than once if they were a backslider? If they felt they needed recommit they lives to Christ by drowning the old man so-to-speak and make a public statement that they are raised alive and a new creation in Christ? The reason that I ask this is because our church had a public baptism at a local lake and one of the elders wives wanted to get baptised for a second time because she had been recently delivered from some obsessing spirits from childhood of molestation, and she wasn’t truly following Christ like she knew she should. So she sought a Christian counselor and was delivered. At the baptism at the lake she wanted to be baptised again and our Pastor said it was fine, but one of our other Elders was speaking out loud saying that what she is doing is not biblical, and wrong. That Christ only required one baptism. Help me find the answer to this please, because I am confused, please clear this up.
