Priest in the Bible: Hebrews 5:1-10


Jesus is here described as our high priest--a successor to the line of Old Testament priests, and the one appointed to intercede between us and God. Through Christ's priesthood, we are reconciled with God, just as the Israelite priests interceded on their nation's behalf.
