I think we have good teaching in acts and romans on what it means to “call on the name of the Lord”. In acts 2 Peter quotes from Joel and then he immediately goes on to preach Jesus and instruct those present what they shall do. It involved 4 things:
    Teaching
    Hearing
    Believing
    obeying
In Ro 10:13 Paul quotes Joel also and then in 14-16 goes on to explain what is included in calling on the name of the Lord. It included:
    Teaching
    Hearing
    Believing
    Obeying
Pauls account of his salvation experience in Ac 22 follows the same type of pattern. Jesus spoke to him. He heard and believed and then obeyed the commands of Ananias to arise and be baptiized, and wash away your sins, “CALLING ON THE NAME OF THE LORD”.

“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.”
- 1 Corinthians 13:1-3
