Staying Alive in a Game of "Killer" - #2803

You're spending a lot of time alone - at least emotionally; keeping things bottled up, you're feeling more depressed and isolated, you're farther from people, maybe even getting farther from God. Your heart is turning harder. Do you see what's happening? The devil is poisoning your close relationships to isolate you for the kill. Don't let it happen! Go back; build a bridge back to them; tear down whatever walls have started to develop, swallow your pride, if necessary.

People who have never struggled with depression have no idea what it’s like. It is horrible. Many people look at the depressed person and say “Oh stop feeling sorry for yourself, pull yourself up from your own bootstraps.” I wish it were that simple. If it were I wouldn’t be in the psodtion I find myslf in now. The words expressed in Staying Alive in a Game of Killer are oh so true. It’s just getting started that’s difficult. My pastor has helped me. Maybe yours can help you.

“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.”
- 1 Corinthians 13:1-3
