Tithes in the Bible: Numbers 18:26-32

Tithing--giving ten percent of one's income to charity and the church--is a long-standing practice that is originally laid out here in the Old Testament. Most Christians today still practice tithing as a way of supporting the church financially and reminding themselves that our money and resources are gifts from God.

    Hi there,

Which scripture says if you don’t pay your tithings you will need to pay God back in Heaven?

    Thank you,
    Lucy

Wow you know that this verse was meant only for the Israelites and it wasn’t until Jesus brought up the tithing subject as an act of obedince to God. And where on earth did you get paying God back in Heaven? there was no mention of that whatsoever! Your tithing is between you and God and if you don’t then that’s just it. Yes it does have an effect on your relationship with God but that does not mean that you have to pay God back if you didn’t. There is no scripture that mentions that in the Bible that i am aware of. If I’m wrong then let me know because i don’t mind critism.
