Do you expect the Second Coming in your lifetime?
Few topics within the Christian faith have inspired as much speculation and literature as the Second Coming of Jesus Christ—the promised day in which he will return, as was promised thousands of year ago. Do you think it will happen within your lifetime?

Most definetely, I believe we are right now at the time of the coming war, as mentioned in Ezekiel 38,39.
And then somewhere between that time and the arrival of the Antichrist in Human form the Church that Christ is Head of, will be ratured out,to the wedding supper of The Lamb of which true Christians, are Jesus The Bridegroom’s Bride. We are having some tribulations now, but I believe the rapture will happen before the ” Great Tribulation.”
I am eleven years old and believe the rapture will happen in my liftime. I am scared but I know that God will protect me from any harm thet comes my way, with that said I DO believe the rapture is comiing very soon.
Be Blessed!

Me personaly! I find it hard to believe in a rapture when no where in the bible does it say this statement. And I have asked a lot of people and none can give me a verse where the rapture is said to happen, only where it hints of when jesus will come back. Anyone on here that can tell me where to look to help my studies it would be much aprectiated.
Thanx
God Bless
Hey Cody if you have an amplified bible read John 20:19-21 the word rapture is used to descriptively and is probably not what are looking for, I would recommend a Vines dictionary and a strongs concordance
I believe that it will happen in my lifetime but from reading the bible, specifically Jesus remarks on the end of days, I do not believe that it happens before the tribulation period. When the Sun and moon grow dark and the stars appear to fall from heaven… he says look up for your redemption is nigh. It seems that Jesus will rapture the church right before He destroys the soldiers and antichrist on the battlefield of armaggeddon. Afterall, he speaks of this day, The great day of the lord, all throughout the bible. Jesus gave us signs and exactly how it would happen and Paul says “at the last trump.” Possibly indicating the 7th and final trumpet of Revelations. I don’t think it is in our best interests to speculate when He will come but better yet… know the signs.

hey teddy bona i read that part and it says rapture the word, but does not speak of the time when he will rapture his people. thats the part i am looking for?
dear cody:
no one knows the exact time that jesus will come and rapture his people, not even jesus himeself. Only the father knows. But trying to predict basing on the information given in the bible and especially the revelotion gives us an idea. For example read what it says in the bible. i do not know exactly where it says in the bible, but i am sure that it says when jesus comes it will be time of wars, famine, poverty, and lots of natural disasters, and more things. all these things are happining today. so many people are going away from god. I defenitly believe that the end is soon (in couple years, or decades at the most, maybe it will be 12-21-2012 who knows?). i dont know if you have heard of the story or not, but couple years ago, jusus took a guy, bill wiese, i believe is his name, and showed him hell.jesus told bill that he coming very very soon.
i dont know if it will help, but i liked it. watch all 7 parts http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTf85cD0BmA&feature=related
no u have got my question mixed up. i know he doesnt tell when and i know that not even he knows. I am simply trying to find somewhere in the bible where it will give me anough info that will help me to believe in the rapture cause as of now i dont believe it will ever happen, i believe we will have to go threw the Great Tribulation to show our love and true faith to him. I have even read in the bible parts that make me feel that way. Me and a friend of mine had a discusion over this because he believes and i dont. The only problem i have is that when i asked him where to find proof of the rapture, he couldnt show me anything. And i just am really curious where the idea of a rapture came from?
Rapture translation (shall be caught up)
1 thessalonians 4:16-18
4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
with all the earthquakes and hightend chaos coming about, it is definatley something that my school is talking about. its neat to think about.
If we have eyes to see and ears to hear, and we use them, everywhere we look there are signs that we are in the last days. Prepare yourselves brothers and sisters! Don’t be afraid. Anchor your heart in Jesus Christ and get ready for a new beginning! I believe it’s happening very soon x x x
I believe the rapture is near, not because of “All these signs” that many use to say it is soon………………I believe is is soon because of the Lord’s
promises
1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 doesn’t indicate that the “rapture” will occur before the great tribulation. I think the common definition of the rapture is that Jesus will take up believers before the great tribulation and that believers will be spared from going through the trials of that period. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 doesn’t support that.
I to believe we are on the threshold of the rapture, let the Holy Spirit guide you and do not use your own senses or mind, read and and read with a open heart, not to find an answer but to let the Holy Spirit lead you. We are in the last hours I feel and I myself cannot wait to go home! Praise the Lord.
In Revelations it stops talking of the saints mid way through, before the tribulation, is that because the saints (true beleivers) have left? Lets think of it this way, be prepared and live your life as He is coming today, this very hour and you will have nothing to fear.
20But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. 23But each in his own turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him. 24Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. 25For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 27For he “has put everything under his feet.”
the above, from 1 Corinthians 15, is a good description of the end times which I just came across in the last week. The whole chapter is great to read. On the original question, time and time again have groups tried to predict the day of the second coming, but to no ends, as the Bible clearly puts it in Mattthew 24, “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” My own thoughts are that God knows what he’s doing, and the things that we see as indicators are such from our perspective, therefore God’s plans COULD be for that day tommorow, or still to come.
For a very long time I was like so many other believers who believe in a coming event referred to as “the rapture”. However, in recent months I have come to believe that I have been wrong…for the simple reason that, as Cody pointed out above, there is no basis for it in Scriptures. Indeed, nowhere in Scriptures does Christ or any of the Bible’s authors specifically refer to that word or its meaning, or state that Christ is going to come back a second (”rapture”) and third (at the end of the Great Tribulation) time. What does exist in the Bible, however, are references to Christ returning for a second and last time (not a third time) and it is tied into 2 Thessalonians 4:17. The “rapture” — no matter how comforting –is unsound doctrine and not supported by Scriptures. And Cody…if you want to find out how this all got started…look into the Jesuits, about a hundred years ago, also check out the Reformation period. It was contrived (made up) by the Jesuits for a reason that I don’t have time to go into here. Just check it out…I’m sure as bright as you obviously are you will be able to connect the dots. What I find incredible is how this fabrication has managed to survive — and grow — over the past hundred years.
Oops! Sorry everyone! I meant 1 Thessalonians, 4:17, not 2 Thessalonians.
Matthew 19:16-18
16 Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?”
17 “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”
18 “Which ones?” he inquired. Jesus replied, “‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony,
Learn and remember this text:
John 3:16, For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
ITS THAT SIMPLE, if you believe, you will be saved, don’t be worried about when He is coming, be prepared and live your life as He is coming today, this very hour and you will have nothing to fear
to cody, hang in there studying! i am proud of you! this should help amid all the confusion. if you ask a pre-tribber what event they would call where a trumpet sounds, and the angels gather God’s elect from the earth, they would answer “the Rapture”. now read Matthew chapter 24, Mark chapter 13 and Luke Chapter 21. they all record the interview of Jesus, and HE SAYS when that event will occur, and HE SAID IT WOULD BE AFTER the man of perdition steps into the new temple and interrupts the sacrifices. Now go read First Corrinthians chapter 15, verses 50 through 53, and you will find that the event where the dead in christ rise first, and those of us believers remaining are transformed and taken occurs at the LAST TRUMPET. The only series of prophetic trumpets is found in the Book of Revelation, and the AntiChrist will be given power to make war AGAINST THE SAINTS AND TO PREVAIL, sending some to prison, sending others to their death. Revelation Chapter 14, verses 14-16 CLEARLY SHOW that AFTER THIS MAN HAS HIS WAY, the angels are sent to earth to harvest us. The angels are certainly not being sent by Jesus to harvest wheat, barley, oats or corn.
I have never in my entire lifetime heard one preacher preach on the HARVEST OF THE SAINTS as it is recorded in Rev. 14: 14-16. They are ALL TAUGHT in seminary training, to believe pre-trib, and they then teach pre-trib out of confusion, WHICH WILL MAKE MOST OF THE CHURCH-PEW-SITTERS BELIEVE THAT THE VERY NEXT PERSON WHO ‘COMES’ TO SOLVE ALL PROBLEMS, WHO WILL CLAIM TO BE GOD, AND WHO PERFORMS MIRACLES, WHO WILL PUT HIS SEAL ON THEIR FOREHEADS, AND WHO MAKES (FOR A WHILE) WORLD PEACE, WILL BE THE TRUE MESSIAH, HOWEVER, HE WILL NOT BE JESUS CHRIST. The real problem that all humanity faces today is that we are not given today, or even the next 5 minutes. Any of us could die at any time, and THAT is why we must turn to the real Jesus NOW, for NOW is the time of salvation, NOW is the time to repent of our sins, NOW is the time to admit our sins and acknowledge our need for a Savior. Cody, and the rest of you, please i beg of you, believe, repent and seek Christ and his Kingdom today in your lives. You could die today.
btw, cody, those pretribbers will tell you that it cannot happen at the end of the tribulation, because the entire tribulation is God’s wrath and as Christians, we are exempt from God’s wrath. I agree that we are exempt from God’s wrath. The seventh trumpet contains 8 and only 8 events. First is the ANGELIC HARVEST OF EARTH, and the other seven events are the SEVEN BOWLS OF WRATH OF GOD poured out on earth. We who remain on earth at that harvest are taken, just before the REAL WRATH of God comes on the earth. The imprisonment and execution of the saints that will be occurring all during the great tribulation, is nothing more than what is already occurring in various parts of the world today, it will just be fully global during the three and one half years of the antichrist’s reign.
one last thing and then i will bow out for a while. just in case there are some that claim that i am trying to predict the date and time of the rapture, i am not, for i could not, even if i wanted to.
There are two “days” on earth at any given time. Monday afternoon here in America is already the next day on the other side of the planet, and there are 24 hour time zones around the world. BUT WE WILL KNOW THE SEASON. We are told in the Bible that this taking will NOT catch us unaware, but will catch the lost like a thief in the night.
This third time of darkness, just prior to us being taken off earth has NO SPECIFICITY AS TO TIME LENGTH. It is at the end of the 1260 days that parallel the time of the antichrists wrath, the 1260 days of the two untouchable witnesses in Jerusalem, the 3 and 1/2 years of the escaped remnant of Jews who fled into the wilderness, and then the 3 and 1/2 DAYS that the two witnesses lay dead in the streets, and the world can see them, (through TV) and they will then be raised to life and THEIR RAPTURE OCCURS THEN.) Ours will apparently be shortly thereafter, during the time of darnkess.
