Just the Two of Us - #6808
I noticed my wife's beauty and wisdom the most when there was no one else around. Well, it's the same in a relationship with the Lord Jesus. When it's just the two of you, maybe like it is right now, you can see Him as you've never seen Him before.
Because of Christmas, we've got God with skin on. The Bible says that the Son of God "became flesh and made His dwelling among us (John 1:14).
Crushed - a Christian perspective
God's people are often hard-pressed by enemies and trials--but we're never crushed or completely defeated. As long as God is watching out for us, we'll make it through whatever life throws at us.
Not alone - a Christian perspective
Jesus accurately predicted that at his darkest hour, he would be abandoned by all of his disciples and followers. But he would not be truly alone, for God was with him.
"I will never leave you" in the Bible: Hebrews 13:5
What could possibly be more comforting than God's promise here to never leave or abandon us? It's a promise that no person could make to another, but when God makes a pledge like this, we can be assured that He will keep it.
Dead and dark seasons
All Christians, even the most eminent servants of God, have their dead and dark seasons--when the life of God seems sunk to so low an ebb as to be hardly visible--so hidden is the stream by the mud-banks of their fallen nature.
