10 Simple Ways to Bless Your Neighbors
One of the things I love most about the holidays is getting to do something nice for my neighbors. Oh sure, I could do it year ’round, but I am sorry to say that I really don’t think enough about it.  Then the weather cools down, the Christmas lights go up on the house and […]

Your Goodness and Love Will Follow
All through the ages, Psalm 23 has been a favorite psalm. Every line is rich with meaning. The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. Trust Christ as your Good Shepherd—He promises to meet our needs. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures. He gives us rest and spiritual nourishment. He leadeth […]

Blessings at God’s Table
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. — Psalm 23:5 Pause and envision the scene in God’s royal dining room. . . . Driven not by our beauty but by His promise, He calls us to Himself and invites us to take a permanent […]

Is Your Dog Walking You? - #6402
God's fullest blessing comes through His gifts, not through men's loans. Besides, you look silly being run all over by a debt that you should be running. Remember that the next time you see a dog walking a man. That could be you and your debts.

The Greatest Enemy of the Best - #6396
We all have a hard time waiting for God to deliver what He promised. So we try to help Him. So, what's the greatest enemy of God's best? Impatience. We are the microwave generation. We get 30-second solutions to every problem in commercials. We like fast food. We want God's provision, but we want it now.

Daddy's Smile - #6321
Maybe there's an area of your life right now that's particularly frustrating, and you've tried everything. You've worked harder, you've planned, you've used every trick you know. Could it be you're missing God's blessing on it? Is there in that part of your life something He can't bless: an attitude, a secret sin, a relationship, a method you are using to go about getting it, an untruth maybe? So often the answer to frustration is not greater effort, it's greater obedience.

When It's Just Not Working - #6287
That broken relationship, and you know which one it is, is breaking God's heart. Do everything in your power to take down the walls that might be costing you the blessing of almighty God. Keep checking until you understand what is there that's broken that God says needs fixing. Quit tinkering with the problems that really aren't the problem.

The Delete Button You Can't Reach - #6253
The awful harvest for your sin was taken by Jesus on the cross, so you could make the greatest trade in the world - eternal death for eternal life.

Window of heaven - a Christian perspective
God stands ready to bless us with the vast resources at His disposal--all we need to do is ask. Here, God challenges Christians to ask Him for what they need, and see if He doesn't open the gates of heaven and flood them with blessings in response.

Contempt - a Christian perspective
How do you respond to the blessings God showers down on your life? Are you thankful for them, and do you turn around and put them to good use in His service? Or do you show contempt for them by refusing to acknowledge them?
