The must-see digital ministry resource guide for churches
An exciting new resource provides valuable help for churches wanting to use the Web and social media: Internet Toolbox for Churches. He founded ITC after several years as president of the congregation at his active, Christ-centered and outreach-driven Boston church.

Storytelling is at the heart of all effective communication.
When someone says, "Let me tell you a little story," it switches something on in our brains. Because we are hard-wired for story. If you preach, lecture, teach, or write without using stories, you are likely reducing the understandability of your message by a factor of 10, and its memorability by a factor of 20.

What Christians can learn from consumer best buy research
There's a magazine from my childhood which has hugely influenced my thinking since. Not a comic or storytelling publication. It was WHICH?, the magazine of the pioneering UK consumer group CA. Research is also vital for Christian ministry and evangelism.

Use images always, everywhere, they enhance text and readability
We are wired for visual imagery. An image can express – in a fraction of a second – a mood, a truth, or just an enticement to keep reading a text article. Use them constantly! Creative commons (i.e. broadly free to use) images can be found through an advanced image search at Google or Flickr. There are also many other sources of free photos, graphics and icons, including Bible images.

Readability for writers - how to test your writing
Communication only happens when the recipient understands the message clearly. Daily Writing Tips encourages all writers to put their copy through a readability tester. This provides a Flesch-Kincaid Grade level and a Reading Ease score. Readers Digest built its huge readership with a style that specifies an English level of the average 13-year-old. They also wisely communicate everything with storytelling. You may perhaps recall personalized non-fiction such as 'I am John's heart'. Wesley would run all his sermons past his maidservant, and simplify the stuff she did not understand.

Benefits and examples of mobile phone texts - infographic
Texts remain the one electronic messaging system (unlike tweets or emails) that are usually picked up quickly and read. There are many opportunities to integrate text messaging into health care in the Majority World, as this WHO 112-page ebook explains. With, for example 70-75% of Africans having family access to a mobile, there are many opportunities for cross-cultural missions to connect with people, both in terms of health-care education and reminders, as well as discipleship. In some cultures, a surprising number of not-yet-believers are prepared to subscribe to a daily SMS Bible verse and/or motivational thought.

Christian leadership guru DJ Chuang says in his blog review that it is "hands down the best book I've ever seen about blogging and social media!" Whether you are a non-profit or ministry looking to extend your voice, or an outreach team wishing to use social media to directly touch outsiders, this book is for you.

Bibles for mobile phones and interview with Bobby Gruenewald
The significance of free mobile phone Bibles cannot be overestimated for these reasons: - Christians can have access to a 24/7 Bible. - In the Majority World, mobile phones may be comparable in price to printed Bibles, maybe even cheaper. - In closed countries, Bibles can be hard to obtain, and it may not be wise to be seen to own one. - Inquirers can privately download Bibles in a growing range of languages. - Even many simple phones can download Bibles and other discipleship materials.

Engaging with your nation's soul & spiritual questions
When people are seeking spiritual answers, why would we not try to listen to them and start engaging in the terms and language they are using, rather than defaulting to some standardized formulaic gospel presentation?
