Book review: God Space, by Doug Pollock. Effective conversational evangelism.
Most of us struggle to connect with outsiders and have meaningful conversations about faith. We may have been taught to use formulaic methodogies to steer conversations and proclaim set-piece 'one size fits all' gospel presentations. If ever these worked moderately well in times past, they don't now. Pollock’s book explains his concept of creating a conversational ‘God Space’ in which to engage, by learning to notice and listen, and thereby avoid a range of conversation killers or hijacking methods that control a conversation.

"I cannot begin to express to you how Jesus has changed my life. I am so filled with love and joy that I am unrecognizable to even my husband. There literally is not one aspect of my life that has not been completely changed. I didn’t know joy until I knew Jesus."

The Platform You Would Never Choose - #6257
Let God sanctify that sick bed, that crisis, that unemployment line, that struggle. He will make it into a platform for the life-saving message of the Gospel. It's a platform you'd never choose, but God has. And you can speak eloquently through your songs in the middle of the night.

When the Quarterback's A Referee! - #6255
No spiritual leader should spend his time as a referee. There's too much ground to gain, and he's God's quarterback. And no team that wears Jesus' colors should waste their time in struggles with each other. We have a Savior to follow together and a sea of dying people around us to rescue. Let's fight for them and not with each other!
