The Daniel Plan – Day 1 of My 40-Day Journey
First of all, we need to discuss butter. Hot, buttered sourdough bread, buttery garlic bread, and crunchy, French baguettes with a generous pat of delicious butter will be served at the Marriage Feast of the Lamb for sure. I can live without pie. I can do without desserts in general (except lemon tart and crème […]

The Daniel Plan – Faith & Nurturing Your Soul
Many of us are disciplined when it comes to spiritual practices like reading our Bible or going to church, but we may not have that same discipline when it comes to caring for our physical health. Others are careful about eating habits, but ignore caring for the soul. But our spiritual health and physical well-being […]

A Better Way Home
So, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.” — Hebrews 3:7–8a Thought for the Day: I can’t keep driving through the dangerous intersection of reality and think it won’t ever affect me. My pastor made a statement recently we’ve all heard: Over 50 percent of marriages are ending in […]

Loving Me Ugly - #6441
Why are you living away from home, from His "take you as you are" kind of love? Oh, maybe you're not in the pigpen yet. Well, don't wait until you hit the wall at the end of a dead-end street. And even if you have, head home. You will find a Father running to meet you and to clean you up and hug you.

Should Christians buy health insurance?
Is health insurance (or any insurance for that matter) a Biblical concept? What about alternate approaches, like "sharing" programs? Would you ever drop your health insurance and participate in a sharing program?

Together On the Outside, Broken On the Inside - #6109
That saving, that spiritual rescue from certain death, did not come cheap. It cost God the life of His Son. It took the sacrifice of the only perfect life there ever was to absorb God's punishment for all your sin. And it took His resurrection from the dead to open the way for you to live with God forever in heaven; forgiven, clean, and one of His kids forever.

A Very Expensive House - #5925
In a sense, you drag God into everything you do with your body. It's not your body to do what you please with, to drink what you want, eat what you want, watch what you want, listen to what you want. You don't eat what you want, do what feels good with it, put poison into it, and use it for things God hates. This house was bought at a very expensive price; in fact, the highest price ever paid - the life of the sinless Son of God. And now you've invited Him to move into this house He paid for with His life. Treat your body like what it really is. It's the property of God!
