The King Thing - #5843
God has given us teachers to teach His truth to us, but that doesn't mean we just put away our Bible and stop thinking for ourselves. That's how cults and theological detours get started. See, your primary source of truth must always be the Word of God, which you personally, one-on-one with God, examine every day to see what is true; trusting His Holy Spirit to lead you into truth.

Bumpy Landings - #5841
Things aren't out of control just because you're experiencing some bumpy landings. God is actually using those bumpy landings to get your attention and then to give you some important messages from Him.

Setting the Temperature - #5820
You put Joseph in a great situation and he's the trusted person, the one who says yes to responsibility. Put him in a terrible situation, he is the same man; making things better, changing his environment, setting a positive climate. That is a thermostat. And, that's what the people around you need you to be. Grownup people, godly people, make a difference people respond to situations, not from the environment around them or the feelings that they're feeling, but from the character inside them - the Lord who's inside them!

Playing "Catch" With Daddy - #5815
Just look at your children and you may very well be looking into a mirror of the vitality and reality of your own relationship with Jesus Christ. If you're cool or cold toward God, you'll probably see it in them. If you're excited about God, about His Word, about His work, you'll probably see it in them. If you're negative and critical spiritually and they hear a lot about what's wrong with Christians, don't be surprised if they don't want much to do with Jesus.

When You Don't Have Enough to Finish - #5814
So many times - actually, often many times a day - I have no idea what to say, how to respond, or how to proceed. That's time to abandon the finite battery of what I know and plug into the infinite power of what God knows. When you're out of creativity, you're out of ideas, again, plug into His.

The Weather Channel's Executive Producer - #5812
So when we're watching the weather on TV, we're watching the hand of God. He's making weather that will accomplish His purposes, to change plans, to direct our lives, to get people's attention, to chastise where necessary, sometimes to call people home, to protect us from making mistakes.

Mess Prevention - #5796
In 2 Chronicles 18:4 , King Jehoshaphat gave King Ahab this advice before he went running off into battle: "First, seek the counsel of the Lord." King Ahab didn't, and he died in that battle. You can avoid a lot of problems and a lot of pain if you'll instinctively check with heaven first. Call before you dig.

Filled With the Good Stuff - #5791
Obedience isn't just agreeing with what God wants - it's doing it. And until God fills you with the knowledge of His will on this matter, don't move. When He does fill your heart, don't wait. By the way, don't forget that the unfolding of God's will is usually just the next step, not the whole plan. See, that will keep you close to Him day by day, waiting to see the next step.

Standing Against The Storm - #5779
You have the same God Hezekiah did, and He is Lord over this seemingly unstoppable storm. It's time for you to do what those Native American young people did last summer; get on your knees and you stand against that storm in Jesus' name. Do a Hezekiah - spread the threat out before your Lord. When you pray, don't focus on the threat, but like King Hezekiah, focus on the greatness and the total sovereignty of the God in whom you are trusting and unleash His authority on that storm!

Accountability - a Christian perspective
Christians who presume to lead must first be aware that they will be held to a higher standard of accountability than their non-leading brothers and sister.
