Dispelling the Fog - #5985
Praise acknowledges a sun that is shining even when the fog is the heaviest. If this is a dark time, don't deepen your sadness by ignoring the Lord, or abandoning the Lord, or turning on the Lord. This is a time to throw yourself on His goodness; a time to ask Him for the grace to praise Him for all that He still is, all that He's done, and all that He is going to do. As Amy said, "Praise lifts the sadness." It dispels the fog.

The Sweet and Sour Strategy - #5898
Maybe you're naturally good at dropping the truth-bomb - the part that feels sour to the recipient. Or maybe you're good at the encouraging part - the sweet part. But one without the other is only half the story, and it leaves people either confronted but destroyed, or comforted but unchanged. Maybe you need the Lord to help you add some sweet to your sour - or some of the tough side to your sweet.

Green Lights and God's Will - #5887
God will give you a green light often by Scripture that seems to have your name on it, strengthened by other verses that come your way at that time. He'll give you this strong compulsion in one direction during the times that you're praying, and He'll give you a sense of peace about that direction. He'll open and close doors circumstantially to confirm what He's been saying to your heart.

Go When the Gate Is Open - #5882
The Lord may not always be able to be found. He won't always be near. That's why you have to come to Him while He is. The gate to get to God could not be clearer. It's not a religion - no religion including Christian religion. It's a person. Jesus said, "I am the gate; whoever enters through Me will be saved."

In your name - a Christian perspective
Not everybody who claims to follow Jesus actually does--it's one thing just to say the words, and another to actually commit your life to him. Are you a Christian in name only, or have you truly given your heart to him?

When the Captain Is Not On the Bridge - #5754
There are a lot of people and pressures that are pulling on us parents. Some of them are screaming for our attention while our children are just whisper for it. Could it be that you've become preoccupied with less important things? Actually, almost everything is a less important thing than your priceless trust from God.

Seeing What Isn't Working - #5730
Could it be that you've allowed yourself to start dwelling most of the time on what's wrong: what's wrong with your situation, what's wrong with your church, what's wrong with the people around you, what's wrong with your family members? Without realizing it, you've actually allowed yourself to become what the world already has more than enough of - a negatologist - a role really that is just totally unfitting for a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Life's Most Important Conversations - #8040
if you belong to Jesus, God has placed you in the lives of some folks who don’t belong to Him. He’s counting on you to tell them how they can have a relationship with Him. The question is how do you get started?

Oswald Chambers : Building For Eternity
Our Lord refers not to a cost we have to count, but to a cost which He has counted. The cost was those thirty years in Nazareth, those three years of popularity, scandal and hatred, the deep unfathomable agony in Gethsemane, and the onslaught at Calvary - the pivot upon which the whole of Time...

Bible Concordance :: LORD (in all capital letters)
Used in this Bible to refer to the personal name of God. The Hebrew word for this name is Yahweh, which means "I AM WHO I AM." This name tells us that God is always with his people.
