Can your church appoint a digital advocate for evangelism & discipleship
For years, churches have frequently appointed a missions advocate (by whatever name) to be a channel for information and challenge to the wider fellowship about worldwide missions. Coordinators for other areas of ministry are also commonplace. There is now surely the same opportunity for churches to appoint someone to be the church advocate for the use of digital media in evangelism and discipleship.

Facebook friendship links as a remarkable world map data graphic
Paul Butler, an engineering intern at Facebook, took 10 million pairs of friends and created a data map to show which cities had a lot of friendship between them. What you are looking at is nothing less than a picture of God’s heart and purpose for the world, though the Web. It’s a snapshot of 500+ million people, made in God’s image, doing one of the things we need and were created for – to make relationships. And using what is now the most visited website on the planet. It’s also a powerful reminder that the majority of these people are in relatively unreached countries, and many may have no face-to-face Jesus-follower friends at all.

Living For Things You Cannot Lose - #6214
The person who devotes their life to the eternal things they were created for will see their years on this planet count for all eternity. It's not cheap, but it's worth it. Just ask Jim Elliott. Just ask Jesus. Some will think what you're doing is foolish. But then, he is no fool who gives what he cannot keep, to gain what he cannot lose.

Take the EX out of ex-missionary. How to start a literature ministry back home
Ongoing ministry for missionaries: “It’s like I never left” “I wish I could go back,” is the response of many missionaries when they get back to their home country. Reasons for not returning can be many: age, health, caring for older family members, children’s education, finance, or a volatile political situation. Happily, there are many ways that a returned missionary can continue to minister to his or her country of service. Many are involved in some area of prayer and mission advocacy – encouraging prayer involvement and mission commitment within their home churches. Many can maintain mentoring links with national believers, or be involved in translation work. In these days of population mobility, they can often find a sizable population of ‘their’ people in larger towns.

“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.”
- 1 Corinthians 13:1-3
