One "Unloseable" Hope - #5944
That unloseable relationship with God comes only one way, because we're away from the God we need so much; away by our choice, not His. We've repeatedly chosen our way instead of His way and we've built an eternal wall between us and God. A wall that God Himself acted to tear down by sending His only Son, Jesus Christ, to pay for all our sins when He died on the cross.

The Incredible Shrinking Me - #5933
If you can surrender the control and the credit, you are ready for the incredible shrinking you. Our lives become more incredible than we could ever have imagined as our ego and our interests and our self-reliance begin to recede, and our lives become more about Jesus than ever before.

Outlets Without Power - #5926
With so much pressure on you, there just doesn't seem to be the power to handle it all. Your spirituality, your religion may give you some spiritual experiences, but that's not the power we really need. We need spiritual power that changes the things about us that we have never been able to change; to beat the things that have always beaten us.

The Dark Side - #5924
Jesus asked a haunting question about all this in Luke 6:46. It's our word for today from the Word of God. He said, "Why do you call Me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?" If you got to your room tonight and found Jesus there, He might very well ask you that question. If He did, what areas of your life do you think He'd have in mind when He said, "You're not doing what I say"?

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries, Inc. - What Happened to the Joy - #8288 | Radio Program | A Life That Matters
I don’t remember a lot of facts they taught me in science class, but I remember the experiments. Like the day our teacher had us illuminate a light bulb the hard way–by feverishly turning this crank to generate some voltage–until finally the bulb just started to flicker to life. I’m thinking, “There’s got to be an easier way.” Yeah, like just plugging it into an outlet! ... I’m Ron Hutchcraft. Now, I’ve tried living for Jesus and serving Jesus both ways, by plugging into the main power source and by cranking it out.

The Difference is Inches - #5920
You know Jesus died to pay for your sins, that He rose from the dead, that a person needs to turn from their sin and put all their trust in Jesus to be spiritually rescued. You know it, but maybe you've never done it. Every day you wait, your heart gets a little harder and your last day on earth gets a little closer. Please, if you don't know you've consciously given yourself to Jesus, do that today while the Holy Spirit of God is drawing you to do it.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries, Inc. - Sex Without Regret - #8279 | Radio Program | A Life That Matters
Not every kind of business is suffering in our big recession. Home gardening is suddenly booming. They call them recession gardens–saving money by growing your own food. Listen, if I’m going to do a garden, I know who I’m going to look to as my consultant. My friend, Mel, has the ultimate garden, and I’ll tell you, long before it was a recession survival strategy. And guess what he’s got around his amazing garden? A fence. You know why? “Yeah, to keep everybody from enjoying it.” No, no. It’s so we can keep enjoying it. The fence is there to make sure that beautiful garden stays beautiful.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries, Inc. - When Life's a Broken Vending Machine - #8275 | Radio Program | A Life That Matters
I’m working in my hotel room. I want a soft drink to keep me going. I go down the hall to the vending machine and put in the four quarters—nothing happens. The coin return doesn’t work. I have a choice: forget that vending machine or just keep putting more money into it until I get what I’m after. This is not a hard choice. ... I’m Ron Hutchcraft. And ironically, life offers us many “vending machine” choices. I invest myself in something I think will meet my need: a relationship, an accomplishment, a career, even religion or spirituality.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries, Inc. - A Friend They Won't Forget - #8272 | Radio Program | A Life That Matters
I learned a lot from my former pastor, Bill Johnson, including a simple way to be the person who cares. He told me about passing Tom in the hall between Sunday services, and he asked the obligatory question, “How you doin’?” And Tom gave the expected answer, “Fine, Pastor.” Well, something didn’t sound right. Pastor Bill stopped in the middle of his busiest time of the week and he said, “Are you really, Tom?” Tom wasn’t doing well at all. His personal world was like caving in, and his pastor was able to be the caring person that he so desperately needed.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries, Inc. - Clouds Over Baseball - #8253 | Radio Program | A Life That Matters
I heard it first from my baseball card collecting grandson: “Hear about A-Rod? He admitted using steroids.” He’s not the only 10-year-old boy to lock in on that news. And that’s not who you want to hear it from. Alex Rodriguez–three-time American League MVP, baseball’s highest paid player–admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs. And clouds again rolled in over Major League Baseball. He’s not the first, and probably not the last to have a giant question mark over a great career. How much was his ability, and how much was what he injected into his system?
