Book review: I Hate Witnessing - A Handbook for Effective Christian Communication, by Dick Innes
It’s not what it sounds! This is not a manual of ‘what to say’ through gritted teeth when ‘out doing witnessing’. Instead, the book initially shows how to get off the ‘Guilt Trip’ of wrong motivation for evangelism. It goes on to show what things actually communicate Christ effectively to others; how to get past closed minds; and examines the methods Jesus used in building bridges – using personalized and appropriate ways to reach individual people through their felt needs. These essential lessons in evangelism are highly relevant to online witness also.

Book review: Evangelism Made Slightly Less Difficult, by Nick Pollard
Pollard’s experience of evangelism amongst students is the bedrock of this strategic book. It is divided into four sections: 1. Helping people who don’t seem interested 2. Helping people who want to find out about Jesus 3. Helping people with difficult questions 4. Helping people who want to become Christians

Christian redemptive themes in Dr Who and sci-fi fantasy stories
The new Dr Who series with Matt Smith and Karen Gillan is proving at best very watchable, as blogger Paul Mount comments. Last week’s Van Goch episode, guest-written by Emmy/Bafta-winning script-writer Richard Curtis, was particularly moving, and engaged with a number of human issues.

Augmented reality, mobile phones, and Christian truth: seeing the unseen
Yet another mobile phone facility on the way: ‘augmented reality’. It overlays additional information on what you can see around you, in the same way as a pilot’s ‘head-up’ screen. Will it turn into a useful feature?

Your Mirror, Your Friend - #6092
Thank God for the mirror He's given you. You probably should be thanking them, too. Don't run from the hard truth any longer. It will chase you no matter where you go, no matter how hard you run. The truth may be hard to face. It may mean opening up to someone who can really help you with it. It may mean removing a mask you've been hiding behind for a long time, but it's worth all that and more. Because it's the truth, and only the truth, that will finally set you free.

The Most Important Question About the Road You're On - #6043
The only way to get to heaven is to be totally depending on Jesus Christ to get you there. It means abandoning all other hopes of getting to God and to heaven and fully trusting the one way God provided - Jesus, His one and only Son. If you've never reached out to Him and given yourself to Him, you're in grave spiritual danger, no matter how sincere you may be in whatever else you're depending on.

Getting Rid of the Guilt of a Lifetime - #5987
Sin carries a heavy penalty - eternal separation from a holy God. The Bible has a name for that - that's hell. But here comes the amazing good news. "Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when He freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed His life, shedding His blood."

In spirit and in truth - a Christian perspective
The kind of worshiper God wants is one who worships him not just with words or rituals, but with actions and integrity--"in spirit and in truth."

Night Lights - #5934
Don't be intimidated by the darkness - you are the most important person in that dark place because you have the light of Jesus. Without you, darkness is all there is. Humbly, gently, lovingly, be the light there. You are one light that should never be turned out!

No Flood, No Drought - #2410
Truth with tenderness! Love with limits! That is a dynamic life-changing duo! Truth is good, but too much of it without love leaves people cold. Love is good, but too much of it without truth leaves people in hot water. Give the people you care about "both," like Jesus did. "No Flood, No Drought." Jesus gives us both, and He captured our heart and changed our life. Your truth will challenge their heart, and your love will melt their heart!
