Whoever is wise - a Christian perspective
The psalmist writes that whoever is wise will consider the love of God. Throughout the Bible we see that wisdom comes only through the fear of the LORD and a reverence for his teachings.

Solomon in the Bible - a Christian perspective
The story of Solomon, the Israelite king famous throughout the world for his wisdom. When God asked him to choose between wealth, power, and wisdom, Solomon chose wisdom--and God was so pleased with his choice that Solomon received wealth and power as well.

"Fear of the Lord" in the Bible: Proverbs 1:7
How do we become wise? As in many other places in the Bible, here we are reminded that true wisdom has its roots not in lofty education or human intelligence, but in faithful service to (rendered "fear of") God.

The Name That Says It All - #5908
There's no other kind of relationship with Jesus that will get you to heaven; not Jesus as your teacher, not Jesus as your religion, not Jesus as your belief. It has to be Jesus as your rescuer from your sin. If you've never really thrown your arms around God's rescuer and said, "Save me, Lord," don't wait another day to do that.

How to Get the Rest of the Story - #5907
Here's what Solomon shows us as the steps to getting God's wisdom. First, you humbly admit your ignorance and your powerlessness even if you're number one where you are. Secondly, you acknowledge, as Solomon did, that everything and everyone in this situation is God's, "I'm Your servant"...these are "Your people." Thirdly, desperately seek His wisdom. When you do, God will give you breakthrough insight into that situation, into that person.

In Touch With the Tower - #5871
A pilot needs to stay in constant contact with the person who guides him through his entire flight. And as we try to pilot the life that God has given us through all the "dangers, toils and snares," we really need to stay in touch with our Flight Controller in heaven; the God who can see what we could never see, who can guide us on a path that we could never figure out on our own.

Fresh Each Day - #5857
You can't let your personal Jesus-time be something you do occasionally or when you feel like it or when you can fit Him in to your busy schedule. Make your daily time with Jesus Christ non-negotiable. Everything else is going to have to revolve around your time with Him instead of what usually happens, your time with Him having to revolve around everything else.

A Thousand Teachers - #5829
A person who realizes that virtually every person he meets has something to teach him is an emotional and spiritual millionaire. In fact, I believe God brings into our lives people through whom He wants to teach us things that we need to know. Humility becomes more concrete when you think of it, at least in part, as teachability.

The End of the Maze - #5828
The way that leads out of the maze; the way that leads to God's forgiveness, to personal peace and to heaven is the Man who died for every sin you have ever done and walked out of His grave to prove that He alone can give eternal life.

Responding to the Dispatcher - #5797
God may prompt you to make a call, write a letter, send an email, stop to pray, go somewhere, pray with someone else. Stay tuned for those Spirit-promptings. He may have an unscheduled life for you to touch or to be touched by. He may direct you somewhere to get an answer to your prayer or to be the answer to someone else's prayer.
