I worship with the church of Christ and I have fellowshipped with other Christians and encourage others to do so. I don’t understand why many members would want to limit our ability to make a difference in the world by refusing to fellowship with other believers.

im not sure if i have understood the question competley correct, however i do understand that its only humans after all in these churches and its down to the indevidules to really believe in God and the death on the cross by his son Jesus.
as for now we are guided by the Holy Spirit, who in which will teach us the complete understanding of our faith.
by now you may be thinking, well whats this got to do with the question,?

The Bible tells us that God is a God of order, with this fact in mind how can you accept various religious groups all worshipping God as they want to?
The Bible clearly tells us how He wants to be worshiped, examples are all over the Bible, especially regarding how the first century Christians worshiped God. The Apostles were enpowered to correct any errors, so if they did not make any corrections, they why does various religious groups do whatever they wish? WHy do some babptize infants when there is no authorization to do so, if it were so important don’t you think God would have told us in His Word to do so. The Bible says to Hear the Word, Believe the Word, confess Jesus as the Son of God then to Baptized for the remission of your sins…….How can an infant obey this??????? There cannot be fellowship with those who are not worshipping God as He has commanded us to do……….READ THE BIBLE…..and you will get the answers to all of your questions…

Amen. If God would not accept the strange fire offered by Nadab and Abihu (the sons of aaron) and appointed priest because he had not authorized them to put incense with the fire, then what makes people today think they can do the same thing in worship (what they want) vs what God wants and still be in good standing with him. God’s plans are specific and they are written clearly in the bible. The problem is this little truth is inconvenient for people who want to things their way. They say well christ said we should have unity in him. Christ did pray for unity that everyone in him be as one, as he is with the father. the point is though the ones who worship God according to man are not in christ. There is perfect unity within the body of christ… the church of Christ.

  5. lhart says:

How many plans of salvation are there? The answer of course is one. So if there is one plan of salvation and if we all obey that one plan, then the issue of fellowship becomes moot. However, the reality is that people are teaching different types of salvation plans. The Bible tell us that there is one gospel or one plan, and anyone teaching any other gospel shall fall under God’s curse. Gal. 1:6-12, states clearly how God feels about poeple teaching a different plan of salvation than the one Paul preached and they received. Mark the “ed” on preached and received as you read it. How can I have true fellowship with an individual or gourp of individuals who are teaching a perverted version of the gospel? The gospel is the only thing on this planet that God has given in order to save a soul. So, should I welcome someone into my fellowship who has changed the gospel?

“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.”
- 1 Corinthians 13:1-3
