A Rescue Mission - #6484
God often uses the wandering of loved ones to actually make us re-examine our own lives. And the good news, if you're willing to mobilize all your resources, well, listen to what happened here. It says, "Abram recovered all the goods and brought back his relative." Fight for that loved one of yours with everything you've got, and God will bring them home.

Worth the Wait - #6460
Probably there's nothing that's cost more people the perfect will of God than impatience. So, don't jump to the high-speed line. Remember that the longer line may very well lead to the better view.

Give the Medicine Some Time - #6430
Don't try to make that loved one take a whole bottle of spiritual medicine all at once. Lovingly give a dose of truth, and then back off and let God grow it. Give the medicine some time.

Some Things Just Aren't Negotiable - #6407
It's time that we returned with humility to an open Bible and say, "God, how do You feel about it? And whatever You say, that's it! I'll do it." Now, we have to always speak with love and humility, but always with His authority. We, who love the Bible, are the only ones with the whole story; we've got God's truth. And those things? They just aren't negotiable.

How Did I Get On This Back Road? - #6392
Are you tired of the back road you're on? Why not go back on God's main road? You access God's best by repentance. If your shock absorbers have absorbed about all the bumps they can, make the one turn that will help—turn away from that sin and toward God's better alternative. It's time to get back on the main road.

Monster On the Loose - #6387
Is the monster of ego on the loose inside of you? Before that monster does any more damage, deal with him. Repent of that pride and come back to the simplicity and humility of being surprised that it's you He's using.

Teens growing up online are in a different world than the rest of us
I'm not yet 30 years old, but my experience of the world growing up as a teenager is vastly different to that of teenagers today. It's been a shock to consider how different our worlds are. Below are a couple of documentaries by PBS that explore how the internet is changing every aspect of our lives, and the challenges for children who are growing up in this very different world.

There's a lot more reasons for getting up in the morning when you say, "Lord, help me make a difference for You today." So, as you head out each morning, well, imagine Jesus at the front door calling out to you, "Go M.A.D. for Me today! Go make a difference!"

Total change: how digital communication is changes teens
Today's Western high school students are the first generation to have grown up with digital technology in their homes from birth. The first therefore to have their brains rewired, for better or worse, by 24/7 digital communication. This video and more detailed and insightful accompanying article give a stark picture of these changes.

“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.”
- 1 Corinthians 13:1-3
