That Wonder-Working Word - #6340
So many objections to being a Christian melt away when you turn the attention to Jesus. "Oh, Christians are hypocrites!" Well, is Jesus? "Christians are inconsistent." Is Jesus? "All the church cares about is money." Does Jesus? What is it about Jesus you don't like? He's the issue. We tend to get off on detours about doctrine, and church, or things we're against. This is a relationship with Jesus Christ - no more/no less.

Using contemporary culture as starting point in evangelism
I think it’s important for Christians to use aspects of contemporary culture if they are serious about beginning a dialogue with non-Christians. Rev. John Stott (in Basic Christianity) has said: “The great tragedy in the church today is that evangelicals are biblical but not contemporary, while liberals are contemporary but not biblical. We need faithfulness to the ancient word and sensitivity to the modern world.”

Tiger's Troubles
I was struck by Tiger's admission this week that the problems aren't just physical. He said, "There are a lot of things going on in my life. I'm just trying to get everything in a harmonious spot, and that's not easy to do." It's easy to throw stones at Tiger. What he needs is our prayers.

Driving Hard On the Wrong Road - #6037
The Bible reveals that many people are driving on a road they think will get them to God and that will get them heaven, but there's no way it's going to get them home. However sincere they may be in believing they're on the right road, they are, in God's eyes, totally lost.
