Take up your cross - a Christain perspective
Following Jesus does not come without a cost, which Jesus describes as your "cross"--when you choose to follow Jesus, we must put him first in our lives, above our possessions and even our loved ones.

What To Do With The Garbage - #2528
There is no reason to deal with the garbage of your life again. Not when Jesus Christ has shown you what to do with it. Bring all of that garbage up skull hill where it was already dealt with by Jesus, and leave it there.

Jesus' sacrifice - a Christian perspective
What do we gain from Jesus' sacrifice on the cross? Holiness--we can now approach God and enter His kingdom without the taint of sin barring us from His presence.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries, Inc. - The Holiday With the Price Tag - #8277 | Radio Program | A Life That Matters
As Memorial Day approaches, I remember when our family visited Arlington National Cemetery where the heroes of many of America’s wars are buried. The kids were young, but it was good for them to understand a little of what our way of life has cost. After looking at that sea of grave markers as far as the eye could see, our son said, “Dad, what do all those white things mean?” “In three words, son, freedom is expensive.”

The Most Agonizing Race of All - #5876
The greatest tragedy of all would be if somehow you missed all He died for and you ended up in the hell that He died to save you from. But you have to take for yourself what He died to give you. You abandon all your faith in your religion, or your goodness, or anything else and you give yourself totally in total faith to Jesus Christ. The stakes of this choice are so high, they are so eternal, that it does not make sense to risk one more day without Jesus.

A Recipe for Heroes - #5867
Maybe you've tried discount Christianity. It's very popular. Of course, it's only a pale shadow of the disciple Christianity Jesus calls us to. You go to the meetings, you believe the beliefs, you give in the offerings, you sometimes read your Bible, and you pray. But it's a surface commitment, a limited commitment, a commitment that still leaves you in control.

Deeply Personal - #5856
"For me. What He did there is to pay for every sin I've ever committed, for every wrong thing I've ever done." It's at that point that you realize Jesus is your only hope of being clean, being forgiven, of ever having a relationship with God, your only hope of going to heaven someday. And you surrender yourself to this Son of God who gave His life for you.

The Freedom Line - #5833
There's no religion, there's no spirituality, there's no ritual that can liberate you from sin's shackles. The only One who can do that is the man who bought your freedom with His blood. Jesus said He came to give His life as a "ransom for many."

Sleeping Through Your Wakeup Call - #5816
I don't know how many more times He's going to call. I don't know - you don't know - when your time is going to be over. Bottom line: this is heaven or hell we're talking about. Today, right now - Jesus is calling one more time. Don't sleep through His call again. There's so very much to lose.

The Strongest Nails in the World - #5802
My guess is that you know about Jesus dying on the cross. You know He died there to pay for our sins. But you somehow may have missed that life-changing moment when, in your heart, you walk up to that cross and say those words, "For me, Jesus. What You did there is for me."
