Alcohol is a tricky issue in the Church. Some Christians choose to abstain, some don’t, and both sides can cite chapter and verse to back themselves up. However, everyone agrees that alcohol abuse can have terrible consequences. Many of us have a friend or a family member whose life has been altered by alcohol abuse.
Thankfully, God often uses those circumstances to bring healing. There are countless stories of men and women who have renewed relationships and found salvation in the face of addiction.
In the US, April has been set aside as Alcohol Awareness Month. It’s a good time to talk about the effects of alcohol abuse, but we’d also like to use it as a time to share stories about God’s power to deliver us and those we love from alcohol abuse.
Do you have any stories of victory over alcohol?
