Free ebooks about church social media and communication
A growing number of free short ebooks are available on social and other media for church ministry. Note the word 'short'. Long books can be great, but a surprising amount of wisdom and practical advice can be condensed into 10-20 pages. It is, perhaps, the 15-minute TED lecture approach, applied to text. You can read them quickly, and keep them as reference manuals.
How to ask questions about the popular culture around us
Lausanne's Cape Town Commitment "challenges us to be concerned about media awareness," writes Lars Dahle. "This includes helping people to 'develop a more critical awareness of the messages they receive, and of the worldview behind them'. In order to do this appropriately, we all need practical resources." Lars goes on to list a very useful range of questions to ask about news, documentaries, TV, movies, music, and much else.

To give thanks to the Lord and to bless the readers of the Bulletin or DEI blog, you can win book prizes and other resources during November – 22 are available. Grateful thanks to the publishers and writers for giving them. The prizes relate directly to a richer understanding of the good news, or ways to communicate it (both offline and online) in the 21st century
Why Calvin Miller's THE SINGER is mindblowing gospel presentation
He saw the book in the shop. Had even heard well of it before. But it looked strange. Poetic prose. Although he liked the cadences of poetry read aloud by others, he always found it hard to recreate these by reading from the page himself.
Second Life guide: books and resources to equip a Christian Second Life missionary
Although there is much online to help Christians and churches understand Second Life, handbooks are still a valuable resource. You can use the ‘search inside’ option within Amazon to view sample pages, and also see reader’s reviews. Your library may stock or order some of these titles.
Lack of emphasis on evangelism outreach in the church: the 99 Percent Problem
It’s almost like there's a rule: 99% to us, 1% for them. We can see it reflected in Christian bookshops, where a search of the book titles and videos will reveal that the vast majority of material is produced entirely for Christians, in terms of language, content and underlying assumptions. Just how many books and videos are truly evangelistic and accessible to unchurched people who do not know the language and the concepts?
