We get together every Good Friday with five other Churches in the town for a service with a difference We begin at the Methodist Church at the top of the town for the first part of the service and then process down the high street carrying a large cross, stopping about half way down for Bible readings, calling in at the Anglican Church for prayers and then going on to the Baptist Church for the sermon followed by coffee & hot cross buns.
We used to have Communion at the Anglican Church but have stopped this now as the Roman Catholics who join us are not able to take part.
I have always felt that this was one of the high points of the year as we not only get to join together with our brothers & sisters of other denominations to remember Christ’s sacrifice for us, but it is a witness to the rest of the town that there is a unity among Christians.
I have on occasion bemoaned that over recent years Good Friday has become like any other day with all the shops open, but on the positive side, it does mean that there are people in the high street to witness to.

There good to help the chruch to keep in mind the death of christ until he returns but, nothing else. they do little to bring in new belivers into the church.
