Ron Hutchcraft Ministries, Inc. - The Power of a Parents Words - #8258 | Radio Program | A Life That Matters
Baseball season was always a special time for me and my boys. We bonded, actually, playing baseball together, and I remember when I was first teaching my oldest son how to hit a ball. It was just a plastic Wiffle bat and ball in our backyard. And I pitched gently, but he was just chopping at it and missing. He had two strikes. I went over to him, coached him a little, took a few steps back to throw the ball, and said, “Hey, I know you’re going to hit it this time, man!” He whacked that ball into the neighbor’s yard. Do you know, years later, in a college class where they asked students about important memories from their childhood, that’s the day he told them about.

The Missing Birthday - #5897
You recognize that your only hope of being forgiven, your only hope of heaven is Jesus and the dying that He did for your sins on the cross and His coming back from death. And you reach out and you grab Him like a drowning person would grab a lifeguard and you say, "You are my only hope Jesus!"

Falling Down, but Not Staying Down - #5879
When you fall down, be as defiant about getting up and walking again as a baby is. When you belong to Jesus, there is no such thing as a knockout. When you belong to Jesus, failure is never final. Listen to God's words, "Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise!"

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries, Inc. - The Child You Wanted, The Child You Got - #8226 | Radio Program | A Life That Matters
It wasn’t easy for Brian to talk about. He confided struggling with his sexual identity, and as we talked, the conversation became less about that and more about the relationship between a father and son. All of Brian’s brothers are jocks–like his Dad. Brian doesn’t fit the mold. He’s more into music and drama and art. No less male, just different. Dad has struggled to know how to love a son who’s so different from him and his other sons. And Brian thinks that what he’s ultimately looking for is a father’s love.

Fresh Each Day - #5857
You can't let your personal Jesus-time be something you do occasionally or when you feel like it or when you can fit Him in to your busy schedule. Make your daily time with Jesus Christ non-negotiable. Everything else is going to have to revolve around your time with Him instead of what usually happens, your time with Him having to revolve around everything else.

Letting Go of Your Little Ones - #5832
For some of us who tend to be like control freaks, we have to make sure we're not trying to "play God" ourselves in our child's life. Parents who truly place their son or daughter in God's hands can lay off the nagging, the manipulating, the meddling, and the criticizing. What we try to control we often end up crushing.

Security Checks for Families - #5827
A selfish husband, a defiant wife, a rebellious child, a frustrating parent: they each bring things onto your family's flight that can bring it down. But we each can do our part to make our home a safe place to be, where people are built up, not torn down. We each have a position to play to bring love and encouragement and respect to the other members of our family whether they're doing it or not. Be sure you're not bringing things aboard that can hijack your family's happiness.

The Eye-Opener - #5795
It's time to start blowing a lid off your relationship with Jesus by telling people about that relationship; about explaining it to others! Because when you show someone else this Jesus that you know, He'll mean more to you than He's ever meant before!

Looking at Something Better - #5794
We need to show our children that what we're against is because of what we're for: things like living without guilt before them, relationships without regrets, the specialness of sex, the value of life, a good reputation, protecting the worth that God gave you. We can't just be against the monsters and predators - the sharks and gorillas - that are around our children. We've got to redirect their attention to all of God's good stuff!

When the Captain Is Not On the Bridge - #5754
There are a lot of people and pressures that are pulling on us parents. Some of them are screaming for our attention while our children are just whisper for it. Could it be that you've become preoccupied with less important things? Actually, almost everything is a less important thing than your priceless trust from God.
