Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - The Fight that isn't Worth it - #4989
As Jesus was preparing His disciples for His impending death, they were all caught up in a dispute over who was going to be the biggest "big shot" among them. They were so consumed by their ego and turf issues that they totally missed what was about to happen to their Master. But that's what happens to us so often. We get derailed by some relatively small issue (though, at the time, it seems like the biggest issue in the world to us), and we totally miss the huge things that really matter. And we can't, or we won't, get back on the main track.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - One Stone at a Time - #5068
I think we've got something to learn from an Indian father two generations ago. He knew that he could not build a home quickly. He just added a little bit to it each day. Well, that's the way we should all build our home, our family, adding one more stone today, and then again tomorrow, and the day after that. And one day, you will be able to stand back and admire what God and you built together, one stone, one day at a time.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Never Home Alone - #5085
Life is never secure until you know you belong to Christ. That begins the day you get your sin erased by putting your faith in what Jesus did when he died on the cross for that sin and then you're in his arms to stay. Nothing in heaven, or earth, or hell can take you away from Him. Not because you're so good at hanging on, but because He's so good at hanging onto you.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - The Pebbles in Your Shoes - #5149
I'm so glad that Jesus is a sparrow-counting, hair-counting, daily bread kind of Savior, aren't you? But I need to go to Him with the small frustrations! We could live much more victoriously if we would immediately go to Jesus for the grace He's promised us in the mini-messes - not just the big ones.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - The Test - Then the Lessons - #5173
You get the lessons first and then the test, right? Well, in school, maybe, but not in God's training program for your life. See, He approaches it in the reverse order. First, you get the test, then you get the lessons. And because you may be experiencing one of God's tests right now, that's something it will really help you to remember.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - The Problem with Looking at Yourself - #4003
Poor bird. When he just kept looking at himself, he got confused and disoriented - and he kept running into things. Just like us - when we get all focused on ourselves, that is. And maybe that's where you are right now - the stress, the hurt, the load has gotten you all focusing on yourself, maybe without you're even realizing it. And you may actually be fluttering around emotionally, feeling disoriented and discouraged, even crashing sometimes.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - The Sweetener - #4025
And that might be exactly what you need to be praying for right now. Actually, “crying out to the Lord for,” as Moses did. That’s not just a casual, trite little prayer. That’s a desperate cry to God for something so hard that only He can do it. Right now, you may be thinking of someone in your personal world who is bitter. There’s resentment, sarcasm, cynicism, anger, maybe unforgiveness. The good news is that God is the world’s leading Heart Surgeon – He can change a heart in ways that no human could ever dream. But you need to be faithfully, fervently praying for God to do whatever it takes to change the heart of that bitter person. Especially if that bitter person is you.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - How A Thermometer Becomes A Thermostat - #4084
What most of us would like to be is a thermostat - someone who controls the temperature in our situation. Your family sure needs for you to be a thermostat; if everyone's a thermometer, it's chaos there. The people you work with, your friends - they need someone who is under control, who doesn't go off with the stress, who's steady and caring and peaceful. Those thermostat people are rare - and valuable.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - The Big Man Behind You - #5264
Because of this all-powerful person who's with you, you can go on, you can tackle what's bigger than you are, you can challenge Satan's dominion, and you can beat what has always beaten you.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Facing Your Fears - #5332
Where's the issue you've been afraid to deal with? Like Paula, it could be some very painful things in your past, or a loss you haven't allowed yourself to grieve for, or some area in which you've refused to obey God's direction because of your fear of the unknown. Maybe there's a ticking time bomb in your marriage, in some of your children, or in your church. It could be you've got a fear of abandonment. But if there is any issue like these that you have been too afraid to face, you know that ignoring it doesn't make it go away. It never has.
