Beautiful But Broken - #6596
I think of the mistakes we make and the hurt we experience looking for this love anywhere else. The little kids singing their little church song, they "get" it: "Jesus loves me, this I know." You know that when you finally open your heart to His love. And your lifetime search for love ends in His welcoming arms.

More Powerful Than Politics - #6592
Walls go down, hearts open up when you speak from the unarguable platform of your pain. Showing folks a Savior who makes you a conqueror in your crisis does something that, well, your words could never do.

The Dark Crossroads - #6588
The song is so right, "Jesus loves me." And the one Whitney sang as a girl, "Just a little talk with Jesus makes it right." Especially if that talk is to tell Him, "Jesus, I need Your love; that love You showed when You poured out Your life for my sin on that cross. So Jesus, I'm Yours...all Yours."

A Poker Chip and a Super Bowl - #6587
The best of Jesus is for those who are "all in." All control surrendered. Nothing I'm hanging onto. Abandoned to Jesus, because anyone who loved me enough to die for me would never do me wrong.

So Much Hurt - #6571
When our son was three years old, we visited the U.S. Capitol in Washington. I remember him looking up that massive flight of steps and thinking, "Man, there's no way." Well, he made it to the top, because his Daddy carried him where he couldn't go. See, when you can't walk, your Father will carry you. I really can do "all things through Christ who gives me strength" (Philippians 4:13), because Jesus really is enough.

Outrageous - #6548
God is not deaf to the shattered lives; the anguished cries of a world that sin has devastated. God says today as He said to Moses in Exodus, "I have heard them crying out...I am concerned about their suffering...So I have come down to rescue them." Oh good! God's going to do something about all this hurt and lostness. Yes He is, and He has a plan. Listen to the next verse, "So, now, go. I am sending you" (Exodus 3:7-10 ).

Beautiful But Broken
If God was ever going to turn His back on me, it would have been when His Son was hanging on that cross. But He turned His back on His Son - who was carrying our sin - so He would never have to turn His back on us. So, "nothing in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:39). His is the only love in the world that will never disappoint you, never divorce you, never die on you.

Christmas Far From Home - #6510
Wherever you are this Christmas, your heart can finally be home, because you finally belong to Jesus. See, He left home so you could find home.

Something Broken at Christmas - #6508
What a Christmas this could be. What a new beginning! Being broken can actually drive you into the loving arms of Jesus Christ where you can finally be whole.

Just Wearing the Shirt - #6494
It's possible you have Christianity and you've missed Christ; there's never been that moment when you have made Him personally yours, when you personalized what He did on the cross. And every day you wait puts you deeper and deeper into the spiritual danger zone.
