"Search" in the Bible: Psalm 139:23
Who knows us better than we know ourselves? Our creator--and in this psalm, the writer invites God to examine his heart and mind, identify his true needs and anxieties, and provide help.

Taming the Final Frontier - #5842
Something very miraculous, something transforming happens when Jesus enters the darkness in our heart. The lights go on. The darkness isn't winning anymore, and He's waiting to make that miracle your miracle.

Sleeping Through Your Wakeup Call - #5816
I don't know how many more times He's going to call. I don't know - you don't know - when your time is going to be over. Bottom line: this is heaven or hell we're talking about. Today, right now - Jesus is calling one more time. Don't sleep through His call again. There's so very much to lose.

Right Words, Wrong Heart - #5783
If there's been more than one you, the Christian you and then the other guys, maybe you're tired of playing charades spiritually, you're tired of the performance, you're tired of the mask. It's time to say, "Jesus, I've been saying all the right words, but You know how hollow it all is really and now so do I. I just want to love You and want to know You for real. I want this to be all about a Christ-relationship, not the Christian religion."

The Three-Open Prayer - #5764
God may open a door through something that happens in the news, something that's happening in your family or their family, or a hurting time in their life or your life. For those who have eyes to see them, the world is full of opportunities to bring up life's most important relationship.

An Answering Person Or An Answering Machine? - #5722
I hope you don't lose that beautiful characteristic of your Master. I would call it a breakable heart. Sometime this week, you will almost surely encounter someone who is wounded or without Christ. Will you excuse yourself because you're busy in a lot of Christian activity - your answering machines? Or will you stop and be the answer with a loving, personal, above-and-beyond response?

You help out with all your heart. That's the attitude of someone who knows that ultimately he or she is living a God-planned life.

Overwhelmed in the Bible - a Christian perspective
The psalmist writes in Psalm 61 that when his heart is overwhelmed he will cry out to God. He asks God to lead him to a rock that is higher than himself.

"Guard your heart" in the Bible: Proverbs 4:23
It's natural that a person would want to protect their body from harm, and avoid any danger that threatens it. But this proverb tells us that even more important than physical health is our spiritual health, represented by the heart--so we must guard our hearts from sin with even more diligence than we employ in guarding our bodies.

Heart in the Bible: Psalm 24:3-5
When the Bible refers to your heart, it's not talking about the thing that pumps your blood through your body; it's speaking of the metaphysical state of your soul. The psalmist in the 24 Psalm writes that those with clean hands and pure hearts will receive blessing and vindication from God.
