Going Back to Where You Went Wrong - #6860
Biblical repentance always goes hand in hand with restitution; making things right at the point where you went wrong. To restore the money you stole, to rebuild the reputation you tore down, to ask forgiveness of the person you hurt, to go back to that person you sinned with sexually and ask their forgiveness. If you want to avoid falling again, retrace your steps.

No Specifics, No Solutions - #6857
God calls us to specific repentance. We may have to go back and clean up a sin that we buried instead of dealing with it, maybe a long time ago. Until you've really brought it to the cross, you should not forget it. Once you have brought it to the cross, you shouldn't remember it, because God has forgotten it forever at that point.

Lance, Lies, and A Look In The Mirror - #6820
We may think lying is no big deal. It is to God, and we're going to answer to Him some day. On the Bible list of "six things the Lord hates," lying is the only one that appears twice in Proverbs 6:16-19. And in our word today from the Word of God in Psalm 101:7, He bluntly declares that "no one who practices deceit will dwell in My house." God is a God of truth. Lying sets God against me. Dishonesty is a very big deal.

Never Turn Off the Alarm - #6781
If the missile of sin's destruction is headed your way, I guarantee you, the Holy Spirit's alarm is going off in you now. Turn off the alarm and the price will be too high to pay. Respond to the alarm, and you will be able to get out while you can.

Acknowledging Or Attacking the Mess - #6776
Will you sin again? Well, probably. Will there be a mess in the garage again? There may be. But pick it up while it's small. Get up quickly. You attack the mess when it's small, and you start a new day clean. You start a new year clean. You don't need to acknowledge that mess again; you need to attack it.

A Battlefield Christmas - #6771
Sin is the "all about me" choices that we've all made. Who hasn't? And it's because ultimately, we've hijacked our lives from the God who gave us our life. Where does that take us: Broken relationships, broken promises, broken dreams, broken marriages, broken hearts. And Jesus won when He came and paid our death penalty on that cross.

The Gift He Didn't Want - #6769
This Christmas, you've got to decide what you're going to do with this greatest gift of all. To reject that gift is to reject God's great sacrifice for you, is to spurn this ultimate act of love from the God who made you, and to turn your back on the heaven that you want to go to when you die.

The Closer They Get, The Better You Look - #6764
Live your life in such a way that you have no fear of scrutiny or discovery, or people comparing stories. If you tell the truth and do all things as Jesus would do them, the light will only show your authenticity as it did Samuel's. It can be said of those who live without secrets and without deception, "The closer people get, the better you look."
